Brown Trout Weekend

We had a great time in the cabin this past President's Day weekend with some of Tyler's friends from college. They are called the Brown Trout Group and make it a point of getting together twice a year, which I just love! This year we had planned on going to the mountains over MLK weekend, but due to the great snow storm, the trip was postponed until this past weekend.

Everyone arrived Friday and we had a yummy dinner at this river-side restaurant about 30 minutes from the cabin. Saturday we headed into Blue Ridge for their Fire & Ice Festival, where locals were designing and creating ice sculptures and there was also a Chili Cook-Off. We made it on the tail end of the festival, so there wasn't much left to see or eat but we enjoyed a few hours of shopping before heading back home. Sunday was "lazy" day, filled with much Wii playing, eating and drinking. Beth and Adam had to leave Sunday afternoon, and there were missed a lot!

Then it was Monday and our wonderful, relaxing weekend was over. But we will be seeing them again soon, over Memorial Day weekend at St. Simon's. Can't wait! Since we didn't take pictures while at the cabin (Tyler and I are so bad about that), below is a picture of the group at the Brave's game from last summer's get together.
